Meet The Team

Dr. Michael Stevens

Dermatologist | Mohs Micrographic Surgeon

Dr. Michael Stevens is a Dermatologist and Mohs Micrographic Surgeon. He specializes in surgical and aesthetic dermatology with a focus on Mohs surgery. Dr. Stevens graduated with distinction from Dalhousie University Medical School before going on to successfully complete his residency in Dermatology and a Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery at the University of Toronto. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in Dermatology and the American College of Mohs Surgery. He is also board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Stevens worked at Dermatology on Bloor in Toronto, Ontario before returning to his home province of Nova Scotia in 2018. In addition to working at Precision Dermatology and Skin Surgery, where he established the first Mohs Micrographic Surgery centre in Nova Scotia, he is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Dalhousie University where he teaches resident physicians.

Dr. Caroline Heughan

Dermatologist

Dr. Caroline Heughan is a Dermatologist who practices general medical and surgical dermatology. Dr. Heughan was born and raised in Newfoundland. She completed her undergraduate degree at Queen’s University and has a Master of Science degree (MSc) in Pharmacology from Dalhousie University. After attending medical school at Dalhousie University, she undertook her residency training in Dermatology at the University of Ottawa and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. She worked in private practice and at the Ottawa hospital for 4.5 years before returning to the East coast. Dr. Heughan is now an Assistant Professor in the Division of Clinical Dermatology and Cutaneous Science at Dalhousie University. She has been active in resident mentoring, committee work, resident teaching throughout her career and has been in private practice in Halifax since 2016.

JoAnne Reid, RN

Clinical Aesthetic Nurse Specialist

JoAnne Reid is a Clinical Aesthetic Nurse Specialist and is one of Canada’s foremost experts in the field of aesthetic medicine and facial rejuvenation. JoAnne is the first and only nurse in Canada to have a delegated medical function approval from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia for the purpose of injecting Botox. She has been directly involved in instructing Dalhousie University plastic surgery residents on the art and science of using facial fillers and neuromodulators and is also a nationally recognized senior technical aesthetic trainer, an inspiring motivational speaker, and an educator to nurses and physicians all across Canada. In 2019, JoAnne was highly commended with a prestigious professional Circle of Excellence Award for commitment to advanced training and continuing education in the aesthetic industry by one of the top dermal filler companies in the world. She strives to build healthy, safe, trusting relationships with her clients by adopting a strong client-first strategy, identifying their needs and creating amazing experiences.

Marianne is the first point of contact for patients and has a friendly and professional approach. Her many years of experience managing specialists’ clinics enables her to optimize the patient’s experience and keep the team running smoothly.
